The Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution officially started on May 16, 1966, when the Communist Party published 5.16 Notification, which was seen as the manual of the great purge, but to me, it started the day my elderly neighbors crawled on the ground like dogs, their eyes filled with fear and sweat dripping down their wrinkled faces.
